Quiet Week Leaves Lentils Nervous

VANCOUVER - Mar 13/11 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished an unusually quiet week with prices trending lower as grower selling interest pushed ahead of the immediate needs of buyers.

The latest trade data for Canada and the United States were released during the week, and they show both countries are experiencing a slow down in export movement.

Interestingly, one of the factors saving the U.S. balance sheet is the fact Canada has emerged as the second most important destination for U.S. origin lentils after India.
