Technical Market Prevails in Lentils
VANCOUVER - Feb 11/11 - SNS -- Lentil markets finished the week's trading on a firm note against ongoing technical problems finding the right grade of green lentils to meet export sales commitments.
The situation in red lentils has not proven as troublesome, with the result markets are not displaying the same type of quality-based, technical squeeze.
The situation is clearer when looking at grower bids for the various grades of large green lentils. Some of the strength in dealer markets relates to the fact the Canadian dollar has been 5.6% higher in value since the start of the year than was the case at this time last year.
