Lentil Tone Remains Firm

VANCOUVER - Nov 13/10 - SNS -- International lentil markets maintained their firm tone during the past week, helped by ongoing short covering against high quality green lentil sales from Canada.

Occasional trades in No 1 quality product are being reported, though most processors have switched to trying to secure high quality No 2 grade product in hopes this will be accepted by those end users who do not want extra 3 grade or ordinary No 2 grade product.

Red lentils are not as affected, with processors more confident about grading following recent meetings with the Canadian Grain Commission.
