Few Changes in Chickpeas
VANCOUVER Sep 11/10 - SNS -- Chickpea markets were unaffected by Canada's ending stocks estimates for the crop.
Overall, Statistics Canada's ending stocks report for the 2009-10 marketing campaign closely matched expectations for lentils, but were lower than generally expected for field peas.
Season ending stocks on farms were based on Statistics Canada survey of 14,400 farm operators across Canada between July 26 and August 3. Commercial stocks were based on available data from the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) and a season ending survey of handlers and agents.
