Doubts Over Chickpea Plantings

PANAMA - Apr 5/24 - SNS -- North American chickpea market participants are expressing doubts about this year's seeding intentions, suggesting actual area will fall short of what farmers had indicated.

Residual stocks of chickpeas in the two countries are expected to be unusually low, which has contributed to firm spot market values.

The situation is more extreme in Canada, with available data suggesting an impossible situation could emerge at some point during the balance of the marketing year.
