Australia's Chickpea Exports Record A Strong Performance
PANAMA - Apr 5/24 - SNS -- Movement of chickpeas from Australia jumped compared to the previous month in February, the latest data from Australia Bureau of Statistics shows.
Shipments reached 53,818 metric tons (MT) for the month, up 44% from the 37,449 MT shipped the previous month. Export sales so far total 236,703 MT, compared to 255,897 during the last marketing year.
For the month, Pakistan was the top buyer, buying 22,690 MT. United Arab Emirates was the second most important importer buying 21,436 MT, followed by Bangladesh at 3,671 MT.
