Chickpea Exports From Canada Start With Strong Tone

PANAMA - Apr 4/24 - SNS -- So far during the marketing year with a a stronger tone, with chickpea exports for Canada posted decent increases, moving compared to the previous month in February, according to statistics from Statistics Canada.

Total export sales during the month reached 20,373 metric tons (MT), up 4% from the previous month's total of 19,544. So far shipments have amounted to 137,046 MT, up from 126,623 in the same period the last marketing year.

Turkey was the biggest consumer during the month, receiving 8,268 MT. United States was the second most important importer taking 3,039 MT, followed by Italy at 1,606 MT.
