Chickpea Exports From Australia Manage Weak Opening

PANAMA - Mar 7/24 - SNS -- Australia's movement of chickpeas during January posted massive declines, sinking compared to the previous month, judging from data from Australia Bureau of Statistics.

The most recent statistics showed shipments for the month totalled 41,122 metric tons (MT), down 64% from 112,972 the previous month. Compared to the same month last year, movement are up 5% from 177,684 MT.

The latest movement data revealed Bangladesh was top destination, receiving 25,179 MT. Pakistan was the second most important buyer buying 4,466 MT, followed by United Arab Emirates at 3,924 MT.
