Turkey's Chickpea Exports Post Easy Month
PANAMA - Jan 30/24 - SNS -- At this point in the current calendar year recorded a easier performance, with chickpea export shipments from Turkey dropped relative to the previous month in November, judging from official trade data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).
Shipments totalled 33,781 metric tons (MT) for the month, down 9% from the 37,228 MT exported the previous month. Shipments so far total 254,003 MT, compared to 166,334 during the previous calendar year.
Current trade statistics showed Algeria was most important importer, taking 9,290 MT in the month. Iraq was the second most important destination receiving 5,442 MT, followed by Saudi Arabia at 2,123 MT.
