Chickpeas See Limited Trade Interest
PANAMA - Jan 19/24 - SNS -- Chickpea markets were little changed in limited trading activity during the past week.
Some doubts are emerging about the level of grower interest in planting chickpeas this year in Canada and possibly the United States.
There is a general expectation combined area will be up over last year, perhaps advancing from 688,000 to 25,000 acres, However, Canadian farmers are showing a modest level of reluctance toward entering into crop production contracts for 2024.
