Little Reaction In Birdseeds
PANAMA - Jan 12/24 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets were little changed after the release of the USDA's final production estimates fir 2023.
Canaryseed exporters were somewhat surprised by the fact white proso millet seed production jumped around 100,000 metric tons (MT) from 2022 to come in at 309,340 MT from 619,000 acres.
Increasesd supplies are expected to maintain pressure ion spot markets for millet seed in the United States, which could have a psychological impact on the relative value of canaryseed for birdseed packagers and mixers.
