Canada's Chickpea Exports Sustain Strong Tone
PANAMA - Jan 9/24 - SNS -- So far during this marketing year are maintaining a stronger tone, with chickpea shipments for Canada made modest gains, rising relative to the previous month in November, according to official trade data from Statistics Canada.
Export sales for the month totalled 23,128 metric tons (MT), up from 20,145 MT the prior month. This boosted shipments so far during the marketing year to 70,845, up 9% last year.
Current movement data revealed Turkey was largest buyer, buying 7,485 MT for the month. United States was the second most important consumer receiving 3,410 MT, followed by Italy at 2,041 MT.
