Birdseeds Post Mixed Finish
PANAMA - Dec 22/23 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredients finished the week trading on a mixed note, with canaryseed and millet unchanged while sunflower lost value.
Stocks of both millet and sunflower are considered more than ample, while available supplies of Canadian canaryseed remain relatively tight.
Interesingly, some market participants believe Canadian farmers planted more canaryseed than estimated by Statistics Canada. The degree of difference between estimated and actual production will only become more clear as additional export data becomes available.
