Seasonal Easing in Canaryseed
PANAMA -Dec 8/23 - SNS --Canadian canaryseed markets finished the week's trading on an easier note, reflecting diminished short term demand and modest grower selling pressure.
Markets did not immediately react negatively to Canada's final production estimate for 2023, which pegged output at 112,210 metric tons (MT), well below last year's 159,300 MT harvest.
The final production estimate is based on direct surveys of farmers. It was 9% below Statistics Canada's model based forecast in September and 4% below expectations based on provincial yield data.
