Chickpea Exports From Turkey Open On Strong Note
PANAMA - Mar 28/23 - SNS -- Started the current calendar year on a a firmer tendency, with chickpea exports for Turkey were up significantly, rising relative to the previous month in January, according to official statistics from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).
The most recent statistics showed shipments for the month totalled 16,451 metric tons (MT), up 28% from 12,850 the previous month. Versus the same month last year, movement are up 23% from 13,323 MT.
The latest trade data reported Iraq was top destination, buying 8,280 MT. Jordan was the second most important importer buying 974 MT, followed by Algeria at 879 MT.
