Chickpea Exports From Turkey Continue Soft Trend
PANAMA - Mar 1/23 - SNS -- Shipments of chickpeas from Turkey were little changed, dropping versus the previous month in December, official data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) reports.
Shipments during the month totalled 12,850 metric tons (MT), down from 14,627 MT the previous month. This increased movement so far during the calendar year to 183,688, down 25% last year.
During the month, Iraq was the top importer, taking 2,952 MT. Syria was the second most important consumer receiving 1,494 MT, followed by Other at 1,082 MT.
