Chickpeas Remain On Holidays
PANAMA - Dec 30/22 - SNS -- Chickpea markets were seasonally quiet during the past week, with little change reported in values or trading interest.
Attention remains on seeding progress for India's rabi season chickpea crops, with markets trying to gauge what changes have happened with the country's kabuli area; while Australia exporters are paying close attention to the impact of the split of desi chickpea needs.
By the end of December, India's farmers are on pace to plant a 11.684 million hectares of all classes of chickpeas, up slightly from 11.636 million last year.
