Birdseeds Markets Ease
PANAMA - Oct 28/22 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets closed the week on an easier note despite thoughts the Canadian canaryseed harvest is smaller than initially estimated.
In its final crop report for the year, Saskatchewan Agriculture estimate yields at 1,125 pounds per acre, compared to Statistics Canada's September estimate of 1,281 pounds.
If yield are closer to the provincial estimate, production may end up closer to 143,500 metric tons (MT), below the September estimate of almost 157,000 MT, but above last year's 132,752 MT result.
