Chickpea Exports From Australia Extend Weak Trend

PANAMA - Aug 4/22 - SNS -- Export shipments of chickpeas for Australia were slightly lower, falling relative to the previous month in June, official data from Australia Bureau of Statistics shows.

Shipments reached 25,891 metric tons (MT) during the month, down 16% from the 30,905 MT exported the previous month. Shipments so far total 403,493 MT, compared to 672,276 in the same period the previous marketing year.

Pakistan was the number one consumer, receiving 10,349 MT. Nepal was the second most important consumer receiving 3,323 MT, followed by Bangladesh at 2,420 MT.
