Uncertainty In Chickpeas
PANAMA - Feb 25/22 - SNS -- Chickpea markets wee mostly unchanged in relatively light trading interest during the past week as markets try to assess the impact of events during the past week.
The war between Russia and the Ukraine is creating uncertainty in chickpea markets because of sanctions imposed on Russia by most European and NATO member states.
This has the potential to affect Russian chickpea and other pulse exports through direct sanctions as well as the decision to block some Russian banks from using the SWIFT system for the movement of money between banks.
