Chickpeas In Holding Pattern
PANAMA - Feb 18/22 - SNS -- International chickpea markets were little changed during the past week despite potentially bearish production estimates from India.
In its second advance estimate, India estimated its chickpea harvest would reach 13.12 million metric tons (MT), up from 11.91 million last year and the recent five year average of 10.74 million MT.
Production is not broken down by class, but most of the crop is desi type destined for the country's domestic market.
