Australia's Chickpea Exports Open On Strong Note
PANAMA - May 4/21 - SNS -- At this point in the current marketing year with their a stronger tendency, with chickpea movement for Australia improved compared to the previous month in March, according to statistics from Australia Bureau of Statistics.
Exports totalled 85,426 metric tons (MT) for the month, up 3% from the 83,269 MT exported the previous month. Exports so far total 517,629 MT, versus 217,555 during the last marketing year.
Current movement statistics reported Pakistan was largest consumer, receiving 58,909 MT during the month. Bangladesh was the second most important destination buying 11,577 MT, followed by United Arab Emirates at 6,424 MT.
