Quiet Week In Chickpeas
PANAMA - Dec 18/20 - SNS -- Chickpea markets were little changed during the past week in seasonally light trading activity.
Markets are somewhat optimistic trading activity will improve during the first quarter of 2021 because Ramadan begins in April this year and is usually preceded by the accumulation of pulses.
The depth of the buying interest in destinations like Pakistan could be influenced by the amount of pulses sown during the current rabi planting season. Both Pakistan and India are hoping to see a solid increase in chickpea area.
