Food Inflation Raises Export Hopes

PANAMA - Oct 30/20 - SNS -- International chickpea markets were little changed in relatively steady demand during the past week as grower deliveries kept pace with the short term needs of processors and exporters.

Food price inflation has become a major problem on the Indian subcontinent, resulting in government actions aimed at getting it under control.

This has created some optimism import demand for small caliber and desi chickpeas will improve until the region is closer to harvesting its rabi season crops early next year.
