Few Changes in Chickpeas

PANAMA - Jun 26/20 - SNS -- International chickpea markets were little changed during the past week, with markets waiting for the coming week's seeded area estimates for Canada and the United States.

Land in the crop in both countries will be down significantly from last season because of disappointment over prices, movement, and disease pressure in some areas.

Concerns are already being expressed about the potential for disease problems in parts of the growing area because of excess moisture in some locations, while drier areas could yield a higher proportion of small caliber kabuli chickpeas is conditions do not improve.
