Spain's Confection Sunflower Imports Reveal Slow Month

PANAMA - Feb 22/19 - SNS -- So far during the current calendar year posted a easier month, with confection sunflower imports by Spain posted massive declines, sinking relative to the previous month in December, according to the latest data from Eurostat.

Imports totalled 2,396 metric tons (MT) for the month, down 87% from the 18,039 MT exported the previous month. Imports so far total 229,652 MT, versus 107,119 in the same period the last calendar year.

China was the most important exporter, supplying 870 MT. United States was the second most important supplier shipping 783 MT, followed by Argentina at 705 MT.
