Birdseeds Unchanged to Firmer

PANAMA - Oct 27/17 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets finished the week unchanged to firmer against strength in sunflower seed markets in the United States.

White proso millet and Canadian canaryseed were virtually unchanged in relatively light trading interest.

Commenting on the markets, the U.S. based National Sunflower Association said bids at crush plants in the United States "ended the week up 10 to 30 cents. Birdfood prices continue to see little movement after large purchases were made in August/September taking care of current needs.

"Oilseed prices in general are having trouble bucking the narrative of an ample US harvest thatÂ’s currently underway. This plus sufficient seed supplies in the pipeline has led to some nearby resistance for any significant rally in sunflower prices."
