Birdseeds Unchanged to Easier
PANAMA - Dec 16/16 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets finished the week unchanged to lower in seasonally light trading activity.
Oil sunflower markets were mostly lower in sympathy with canola markets, which eased on the week in U,S, dollar terms, though rising in Canadian dollar terms.
Canada's currency slipped 1.5% on the week to just under 75 cents, with the result the modest gain in values for the March canola futures converted into a 1.2% decline from U.S. $398.88 to $394.22 per metric ton (MT).
Canadian canaryseed was unchanged in grower markets, while easing slightly on inter-dealer markets. By contrast, white proso millet was unchanged on the week.
