Canada's Bulk Lentil Exports Drop in June
VANCOUVER - Jul 28/15 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 14,000 metric tons (MT) lentils were exported through licensed facilities which are required to report to it all grain movement in June.
The CGC data does not include exports in containers or from non-reporting terminals.
The CGC reports 48,100 MT were shipped the same month last year, while movement is down by almost a third from the 20,100 MT shipped the previous month.
This lifted season to date bulk exports to 469,200 MT since the August start of the current marketing year, compared to 415,200 MT during the same period last season. The 2013-14 marketing year finished with 440,300 MT of lentils exported through facilities reporting to the CGC, versus 231,900 MT the previous season.
