Few Changes in World Lentils

VANCOUVER - May 30/15 - SNS -- International lentil markets were little changed under relatively light trading conditions and slowing export movement in the face of tightening supplies.

The fact seeding of this year's crop is nearing completion in Canada and the United States bolstered the spirits of buyers. But, indications that as much as a quarter of the Canadian crop could be behind normal development created some underlying concern.

Reflecting comments from several growers and processors, last week, Saskatchewan Agriculture said, "Despite heavy frost in many areas early last week, most crops were not damaged." This was welcome news to most market participants, easing initial worries about the size of this year's harvest.
