France Export Pace Holds Steady

VANCOUVER - Mar 7/14 - SNS -- Field pea exports from France slowed in January, dropping below the previous month but still more than double the quantity shipped during the same month last year, according to data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).

Export shipments in January totalled 16,090 metric tons (MT), down 18% from the 19,625 MT shipped the previous month, but almost double the 8,080 MT shipped the same month last year.

Most peas were shipped to European destinations, with Belgium the most important, followed by Norway and the Netherlands. There were no reports of pea shipments to India or Egypt.
