Sunflower Mixed Against USDA Updates
VANCOUVER - Jan 11/14 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets finished the week's trading on a mixed note as markets absorb the final production estimates for the United States for 2013.
Confection sunflower output was pegged at 386 million pounds, a slight increase from last year, while oil-type sunflower production was down 31% at 1.65 billion pounds.
Confectionary markets were left unchanged by the news, with grower bids ranging between 32 and 35 cents per pound for larges and 22 to 25 cents for smalls.
