Chickpeas Muted On The Week

PANAMA - Mar 26/21 - SNS -- International chickpea markets were largely unchanged during the past month as offers from exporters remained in line with the needs of importers.

Initial export activity from India this calendar year is down from last year, though exports during the country's 2020-21 fiscal year which ends in March are up over the same period in 2019-20.

Reports of above average yields for rabi season crops such as mustard seed and potatoes suggest both kabuli and desi chickpeas likely benefitted from an excellent soil moisture profile, with problems in some areas offset by gains elsewhere.
