Little Change In Chickpeas

PANAMA - Jan 22/21 - SNS -- International chickpea markets finished the week mostly unchanged for kabuli type but modestly firmer for desi as Australian exporters meet short term sales commitments.

Markets for desi and small caliber kabuli are being influenced by the fact Ramadan begins in April this year and is usually preceded by the accumulation of pulses.

Australia saw a good jump in export movement in November, compared to last year, with movement jumping from just over 40,000 metric tons (MT) in 2019 to almost 74,000 last year.
