Continued Firmness in Mustard

PANAMA - Feb 1/19 - SNS -- North American mustard seed markets finished the week on a modestly firmer footing, with spot prices paid to farmers inching up 1% for all classes.

Interestingly, the average new crop bid price for yellow was the same as for spot markets, while average new crop oriental mustard seed bids finished the week higher than the average spot bid, while new crop brown was lower on average.

By contrast, maximum bid levels for spot yellow and oriental maintained their premium to the best new crop bid levels, while the highest prices shown to growers for brown were the same in both spot and new crop markets for No 2 Canada or better product.
