Easing Demand Weakens Mustard

PANAMA - Feb 16/24 - SNS -- Mustard seed markets continued to eas during the past week, with yellow and oriental declining while brown was unchanged.

Prices offered farmers in western Canada have fallen sharply since the start of the calendar year, with processsors and exporter unwilling to accumulate product beyond their short term shipping needs.

Since the beginning of the year, spot bids for Bo 1 grade yellow mustard delivered processing plants and elevators have declined 19%, compared to a 33% decline for oriental and 30% for brown.
