Bulk Mustard Exports Slip in 2015-16

PANAMA - Aug 7/16 - SNS -- Export movement of bulk mustard seed through the primary and terminal elevators system is finishing the marketing year just behind last season, according to the latest data from the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC).

The CGC reports 400 MT of bulk mustard seed export clearances through reporting terminals and primary elevators between July 25 to 31. That lifted season to date exports to 22,300 MT, compared to 23,100 MT exported during the previous marketing year. The CGC says season to date exports through terminal elevators include 6,000 MT of No 1 Canada mustard seed.

Export data is not available through the end of June for Canada. It reveals shipments reached 106,337 MT, down from 116,094 the previous marketing year. The most important destinations were the United States, followed by Belgium and Japan.
