Birdseeds Unchanged to Easier
PANAMA - Apr 16/16 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets were unchanged to easier against seasonally light trading interest during the past week.
Confection sunflower markets were unchanged, while oil-type was modestly weaker in sympathy with the canola and vegetable oil, both of which were down on the week. Strength in protein meal markets allowed soybeans to finish higher.
Canadian canaryseed markets were mostly unchanged on the week in both grower and inter-dealer markets. Strength in the Canadian dollar is putting upward pressure on export markets because limited grower selling interest is making it hard for processors to pass along currency fluctuations in the form of lower bids.
