Tight Canaryseed Supply Outlook
VANCOUVER - Dec 6/14 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets were little changed in relatively trade during the past week.
The underlying tone of Canadian canaryseed markets was helped by the final crop report of the year, which pegged output at 124,900 metric tons (MT), down 5% from last year.
The last time canaryseed output fell below 125,000 MT was 2001. However, carry-over stocks were significantly higher that year, with the result the available supply of canaryseed was well above this season's 140,900 MT.
