Mixed Week for Birdseeds
VANCOUVER - Nov 2/14 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets ended the week on a mixed note against conflicting influences from outside markets and improved availability of new crop product.
Canada's canaryseed harvest is virtually complete, with only a small number of fields remaining to be harvested. This contributed to a modest slip in values, while white proso millet was unchanged.
Both confection and oil-type sunflower ended the week on a firmer note. The U.S.-based National Sunflower Association noted that bids rallied in sympathy with surging vegetable oil prices.
