Invisible Canaryseed Stocks Drawn Down

VANCOUVER - Aug 6/14 - SNS -- Canada is eating deep into its invisible stocks of canaryseed to satisfy relatively strong export demand, judging from the latest official trade for the country.

Canadian canaryseed exports for June were the second highest for the marketing year, totalling 22,919 MT. That compares to 14,381 MT in May and 9,465 MT during the same month last year. The most important buyer for the month was Belgium, taking 9,992 MT. It was followed by Mexico at 3,655 MT and Spain at 1,248 MT.

Of greater significance is the fact that more canaryseed was exported in April, May and June than was available at the end of March.
