French Pea Exports Drop More in May
VANCOUVER - Jul 8/14 - SNS -- The pace of field pea exports from France continued their recent decline in May, dropping below both the previous month and year earlier levels, according to data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).
Export shipments during the month totalled 10,570 metric tons (MT), down 26% from the 14,305 MT shipped the previous month, but down 78% from the 47,665 MT shipped the same month last year.
Most peas were shipped to European destinations, with Belgium the most important, followed by Netherlands and Switzerland.
