India Increases Kharif MSP

VANCOUVER - Jun 25/14 - SNS -- India announced modest increases in minimum support prices (MSP) for this year's kharif or summer pulse crops.

Support prices for the three main pulses will rise 1% to 2% over last year. These are the smallest year over year increases in MSP since 2006.

Between 2006 and 2014, MSPs more than doubled for moong and Arhar or pigeon peas; and almost doubled for urad or black matpe. Double digit percentage increases occurred in most of those years.
