June Starts With Strong Pea Movement

VANCOUVER - Jun 13/14 - SNS -- There was little change in field pea markets during the past week, despite continued improvements in export movement from Canada.

Markets in that country were little changed, while U.S. field pea markets remain strong as processors complete shipments against previous USDA PL-480 food aid tenders.

For the first week of June, the Canadian Grain Commission reports that 97,200 metric tons (MT) of peas were loaded to ships from bulk export terminals. This is up from the previous week, but is down from the 121,000 MT shipped during the same week last year.
