Mixed Week For Birdseeds
VANCOUVER - May 24/14 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets registered a mixed performance during the past week.
In the United States, confectionary sunflower prices were essentially unchanged in both spot and new crop shipping positions.
Oil-type sunflower, by contrast, finished with modest price declines despite firmness in canola and soybeans. There is optimism farmers will seed more sunflower than intended because of delays getting into fields in North Dakota.
