More Realistic Canaryseed Forecasts
VANCOUVER - Oct 12/13 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets were little changed in relatively light trading conditions.
Canada's canaryseed harvest has pushed past the mid point in Saskatchewan. Farmers in most remaining areas expect to wrap up this year's harvest within the week, barring weather events which keep them from entering fields.
Unofficial yield estimates from the provincial agriculture department suggest this year's crop could be around 124,000 metric tons (MT), assuming only 210,000 were planted this year.
