Birdseeds Regain Firm Undertone
VANCOUVER - Aug 17/13 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets were mainly firmer on the week, largely in sympathy with week over week gains in soybeans and corn.
The saw oil sunflower finish with week over week gains, while confection sunflower was unchanged. White proso millet also rebounded during the week after trying to test its ability to return to more normal pricing levels after a year of fundamental shortages.
Canadian canaryseed markets were mainly unchanged on the week in on export and grower markets. The harvest has yet to start in Saskatchewan, which is contributing to tight short term supplies.
