Birdseeds Unchanged To Firmer
VANCOUVER - May 17/13 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets were little changed during the past week, reflecting tight stocks of some seeds and a minor shift in emphasis from old crop supply concerns to new crop prospects.
Oil-type sunflower markets posted modest gains during the past week, rising in sympathy with canola and soybeans.
Confection sunflower seed markets were nominally unchanged on the week, with bids in Montana ranging up to U.S. 50 cents per pound, versus 35 cents for large confection sunflower in Kansas.
