Easier Note in Chickpeas

VANCOUVER - Feb 9/13 - SNS -- Markets finished the week's trading on a generally easier note, as kabuli chickpea offers from India's exporters continue to reveal grower selling pressure from the rabi season harvest.

Market sentiment was not helped by the December 31 stocks in all position s report from Statistics Canada, which reveals the Canadian industry was once again determined to wait rather than take advantage of chances t move product during the fall shipping period.

Statistics Canada reported there was an above average 139,000 metric tons (MT) of chickpeas on hand, with growers sitting on 127,000 MT and processors 12,000 MT.
