Birdseeds Hold Firm
VANCOUVER - Oct 5/12 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets maintained their firm tone through the past week, with Canadian canaryseed little affected by the latest production estimates from Statistics Canada.
The crop could be down 10,000 metric tons (MT) from last year on account of a steep reduction in forecast yields.
By contrast, Canadian sunflower seed output is forecast to jump from 19,800 to 76,600 MT after Manitoba's farmers were able to seed this year's crop.
